    Care of Procedure Site
After receiving SMP, it’s essential to follow proper care instructions to ensure optimal healing, and to minimize any potential risks. Below, we provide detailed guidance on how to care for your body art site:

    Activity Restrictions:
Please try to refrain from any heavy physical activity after your treatment. Engaging in physical activity after SMP treatment may affect the longevity and appearance of the pigments. Excessive sweating from intense workouts or activities can potentially cause the ink to fade or spread, resulting in a less defined and blurred look. If you must, choose low-impact exercises that minimize sweating to maintain the integrity of my SMP treatment.

    Infection Awareness:
Please be pay close attention for signs of infection following SMP treatment. These signs may include redness, swelling, soreness, tenderness at the procedure site, red streaks extending from the site toward the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage (discharge) from the treated area. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention right away.

    Medical Attention/ Reporting Procedure:
Instructions to seek medical advice promptly if any signs of infection arise or if there are any concerns related to the body art procedure.

If physician care is required, the client is to inform Calaveras Barber Shop & SMP and their practitioner about the issue, and the medical resolution obtained by their physician/clinic. This report will be added to the client's records for reference.

NOTE: A diabetic person considering Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) should be aware of several important factors:

    • * Risk of Infection: Diabetes can impair the body’s ability to heal, increasing the risk of infection after SMP. Healing Time: The healing process may take longer for diabetic individuals, and close monitoring of the scalp for any signs of infection is crucial. Blood Sugar Levels: Fluctuations in blood sugar levels can affect the healing process, so maintaining stable glucose levels is essential. Consultation with Healthcare Provider: It’s important to consult with a healthcare provider before undergoing SMP to ensure it’s safe based on your medical condition. Calaveras Barber Shop & SMP, LLC will not proceed without a doctor’s approval/prescription note. Aftercare: Follow all aftercare instructions diligently to minimize complications and promote proper healing.
